I’m an artist and I have been for most of my life. I’ve always been fascinated by shadows and the way they fall across things. Years ago my best friend died. After his passing a mutual friend gave me a photograph she took of him. It was very dark, with the shadows on his face merging into the black background. “He wanted me to take a picture of him and have his face blend into the background” she told me.
