Colored Pencil Portraits consist of a large part of the art work I create each year. I am able to capture more than a resemblance of a certain person, beyond that I tell a story of who they are with a glow to their smile and a deeper personality of that exceptional person.

Hi, my name is Margot Bloom and I am an artist. I have been one as long as I can remember. I was lucky to have a mother that always had a fun art project for me and my friends. It’s because of her that I see beauty everywhere. My favorite place to look for that beauty is in the faces of everyone around me. Please check out my website for more information about me and my work!

Bo Bakker (Amsterdam, Nederland)
|
|
|
A particular gesture, a glance or a certain posture: to Bo Bakker, these elements are crucial to characterizing a person in his portraits. Bo Bakker was born in the Netherlands in 1953, on one of the many freight ships on the rivers and canals of that country. After seven years on that ship, he went to school and finally graduated in graphic, painting and monumental arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam, where he at present still lives and works. Though at art school and also afterwards, he made several portraits, he never thought he once would specialize in this genre...

I received a BFA in Fine Art from Savannah College of Art and Design. I have worked as an illustrator and a graphic designer and now my first love, portraits. I work in acrylic on canvas and although my portraits capture the likeness of my subject, I aim to reveal something of the inner person.

I am a medievalist at heart and create my portraits using media that is not in common use today. My drawings are created in silver point, which is a method of drawing using pure silver. Silver point drawings have been discovered by Leonardo da Vinci and Albrecht Durer. Each drawing has a special glow and will tarnish to a lovely brown shade over time. I work from your photo. I especially love working with children in natural settings just being kids.

It is important to me that portraits feel natural and fresh and are not simply copies of a photograph. I like my paintings to be quite loose whilst still sensitive - capturing the essence and likeness of the 'sitter'. I specialise in portraits of children, though I am of course happy to take on other commissions including adults and pets! I use your photographs as reference which means that I can work for clients worldwide. Using canvas board makes shipping the paintings both easy and cost effective. Please take a look at my website for lots more information and examples.

I am a fine art person right from when I was still a knee-high to a grasshopper. In other words, as far as I could recall, it all started right from my primary school days. All glory to God. The aesthetic shades of hue, pencil and stuffs I use in making portraits portray the fascinating prowess or versatility evidently seen in all my artwork. However, we all learn day by day, I yet yearn to model myself on the likes of my mentors. People notably say time and again that I am good in life drawing. Truly, their observation is spot on! In fact, in just nothing but few seconds of sitting down to...

I live and work on the Big Island of Hawai'i, and have always loved drawing and painting. My favorite medium is pencil, because I feel that pencil can capture emotion like nothing else. I prefer unposed pictures, to better reflect the personality of the subject.

Formerly a sweater designer, now an aspiring artist, I study painting at community college. As you can see, I really enjoy portraits, the figure, and museum drawing. My paintings are layered using traditional techniques and materials. I start with your photograph. I enjoy painting indigenous people from my world travels and hope to do more. Currently I am concentrating on the images of children. My goal is to capture their personalities and spirit. My style is simple realism, I try to create more than an impression but not digital art. I do not detail backgrounds because I want the pain...
