Art has always been one of Joshua's passions, and the artist has been drawing and doodling since childhood. After experimenting with various mediums, Joshua finds ease and comfort in using graphite pencil due to both its accessibility and versatility. I am a medievalist at heart and create my portraits using media that is not in common use today. My drawings are created in silver point, which is a method of drawing using pure silver. Silver point drawings have been discovered by Leonardo da Vinci and Albrecht Durer. Each drawing has a special glow and will tarnish to a lovely brown shade over time. I work from your photo. I especially love working with children in natural settings just being kids.

I live and work on the Big Island of Hawai'i, and have always loved drawing and painting. My favorite medium is pencil, because I feel that pencil can capture emotion like nothing else. I prefer unposed pictures, to better reflect the personality of the subject.
